Who am I?

I am a priest who, among other pastoral activities, exercises the ministry of Canon Lawyer and Advocate of the Roman Rota, thus contributing to the promotion of justice in the Church, which is fundamental for the practice of charity.

Pope Francis teaches in his document «Misericordiae vultus» (nn. 10 and 20) that justice and mercy form a single reality that develops until it reaches its peak in the fullness of love. Without justice among Christians, it is difficult to live the mercy and love that Jesus teaches us.

In the Church, as in any society, injustices are committed that affect ecclesial peace and hinder the proclamation of the Gospel.

These range from profanation of the Eucharist to abuses of power. These injustices offend God and cause harm to persons and communities.

As a Canon Lawyer and Advocate of the Roman Rota, I collaborate with Bishops and Superiors of institutes of consecrated life to ensure just ecclesiastical governance. In addition, I provide legal assistance to those who suffer injustice — whether lay, clerics, religious or institutions — and defend their rights — at all hierarchical levels of the Church — so that they may regain peace in their Christian life.
